SMART Cables JTF Chair Dr. Bruce Howe and colleagues published a Review Article entitled “SMART Cables for Observing the Global Ocean: Science and Implementation” in Frontiers in Marine Science. The paper describes the science and early warning improvements available from SMART cable data and discusses the broader impacts to society, technology, and global financial elements available from such a global network of cables.
