LEA Releases Atlantic SMART CAM Management considerations Report

Portugal’s Listening to the Earth under the Atlantic (LEA) team, which includes the Instituto de Telecomunicações (IT), Instituto Dom Luiz (IDL), and Instituto Português do Mar e da Atmosfera (IPMA), released a detailed document presenting a management concept to facilitate the procurement process for a telecom submarine cable system with the integration of seismic and environmental detection sensors under the principles established by JTF SMART Cables. It presents a general procedure to conciliate both a Request for Tender for a usual telecom submarine cable system and a Request for Tender for CAM, an in-development SMART Cable.
