Data Center Dynamics publishes article about SMART Cable concept to connect Antarctica/McMurdo Base Station

A DCD article discusses the possibilities and benefits of building a SMART Cable system at McMurdo Base in Antarctica to either New Zealand or Australia. The continent still relies on outdated satellite technology that creates limitations for scientists and researchers. The cables will bring a bandwidth boost that will benefit “research, logistics & safety, and the personal lives of the Antarctic Mission.”
